The Amazon: where your team learns how a forest economy really works

An opera house built in the rainforest, community-run lodges and a science centre open to groups — the Amazon as a story your participants live, not a postcard they collect.

The story

Imagine your group here

Day one ends where nobody expects it: inside Teatro Amazonas, the opera house Manaus opened in 1896 with rubber-boom fortunes, in the middle of the forest.

Day two starts on the water. About two and a half hours from Manaus, lodges such as Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge — 20 units beside Anavilhanas National Park — trade the ballroom for the river.

And day three asks the question your company is already asking at home: how do you grow without destroying what you depend on? In the Amazon, that question has names, places and people who answer it every day.

Experiences we can design

What your participants will live — and take home

Experience

Science in the forest

INPA’s Bosque da Ciência, the public science centre of Brazil’s national Amazon research institute, receives groups by appointment.

Best for: R&D, sustainability and brands with forest commitments

Experience

A lodge run by its community

Uakari floating lodge, in the Mamirauá Reserve, is co-managed by local communities with the support of the Mamirauá Institute. A conversation about sharing income in a tourism business.

Best for: Hospitality, ESG and leadership teams

Experience

A private evening at the opera house

A visit or event at Teatro Amazonas to open the program — subject to the venue’s calendar and approval.

Best for: Gala nights and award ceremonies

Plan it right

Good to know

Season

River levels change the experience. The Rio Negro hit a record low of 12.13 m in 2024, so we plan every program with a river-level plan B.

Group size

Manaus hosts large groups; forest lodges suit small ones. Most mixed programs combine both.

Health

Ask your travel health advisor about recommended vaccinations for the Amazon before travel.

Best for: Small top-performer incentives, sustainability and ESG programs, science and leadership retreats.
